Purpose Over Profit.

purposeful life

I used to think that life was all about striving for success, but now I understand that having a purpose in life and carrying it out is success.

A few years ago, I found myself in a dark place. I was stuck and bound by my fear of being inadequate. I didn't know what my purpose in life was, and my vision was blurred.

The light around me was dimming ... but yes, there was still light. I held onto that light. And after yielding to God, I decided to let go.

I let go of fear getting the best of me. I let go of trying to figure it all out. I let go, and I turned to God.

I used to tell people that if you can't find your purpose in life, create your own. That was bad advice. You don't need to find your purpose or create one, because God already has a purpose for you.

Before we were even born, He chose us to carry out His perfect plan. All we have to do is wait on Him to reveal our next step.

Your life means something, and you do have a purpose.

I remember chatting on the phone with one of my girlfriends last year, and she was talking about how she didn't make much in her new job, but she was happy. She believed that she was exactly where God wanted her to be.

I can totally relate.

Two and a half years ago, I started doing "fancy babysitting" after school. Basically, I infuse creative activities into babysitting. It's only part-time, but it's been such a fulfilling and impactful experience.

"When people do not accept divine guidance, they run wild. But whoever

obeys the law is joyful. - Proverbs 29:18 (NLT)

Working with kids was surely not a part of the vision I had for myself. I'm 28, and I'm supposed to be this successful entrepreneur by now. At least, that's what I thought.

"Fancy babysitting?" Nope, not for me.

Oh, how I was wrong.

I was obedient to God's promptings and He's shown me in so many divine ways how this is for me. God is not a random God. When He calls us to do something, He has a plan for it.

And the outcome will always give Him the glory.

We all have bills, responsibilities, and goals, but don't let worldly responsibilities distract you from the purpose that God has for you. If He's opened the door for you to work at a job that pays less than you asked for or would have wanted, He has a plan for it.

Maybe God is bringing you to a place of total dependency on Him. Maybe you're the only one who can reach that co-worker who's struggling with depression. Trust God to reveal His plan when He's ready to.

I don't know what God is about to do in and through your life, but I do know that He will provide for you. You are precious to God, and He won't leave you hanging.

Your purpose in life is to carry out God's purpose for your life. He has something that only you can do, which is why He chose you. Wait for it and be obedient when He calls.

“If you love me, obey my commandments." - John 14:16

Every morning ask God to show you how you can be a blessing to someone's life today. Sometimes we focus so much on the future and our own personal problems that we forget to ask God what His purpose is for our lives today.

Choose purpose, and let God handle your profit. Everything won't always be perfect in your life, but there's joy in knowing that you are exactly where you're supposed to be to do exactly what God needs you to do.

Friends, I'm excited!!! There's beauty in who you are, and I'm excited to see what God will do through you. Let God be God and do God-sized things that you couldn't even imagine.

You have a purpose! Wait for it to be revealed.
