You Will Be Okay.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” - Proverbs 3:5-6

I used to think that everything will be okay if I stayed positive. Now I know that everything won’t always be okay, but I will be.

On New Year's Day, it seemed like everyone on social media was saying that 2020 was going to be the year of 20/20 vision—we would see things clearly. I believed it too. I still do.

I don’t know how things have been for you, but for me, the start of this year has been the exact opposite of “seeing things clearly." 2020 has been very staticky and blurry so far.

I’ve been stressed out. I haven’t gotten much sleep. And my head has been spinning every day for weeks. Things are far from clear.

So what do you do?

My contact lens prescription increases (just about) every two years. My first thought when the doctors tell me that they’re increasing my prescription is that I’m going blind—dramatic, I know.

I'm not going blind, though, The doctors are only increasing my prescription to help me to see better because my eyes are weaker than they were the last time I had an exam.

When life seems blurry, it’s a perfect opportunity to spend more time with God. He promised to be our strength in times of weakness. Like a doctor, He has our best interest in mind and helps us to see clearer.

There’s so much pressure around us to have our lives figured out. And if we don’t, society tells us that we’re headed for failure—that's a lie.

You don’t have to have everything figured out because God already does. It’s okay if things are currently blurry. As long as you stay connected to the throne, you will be okay.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” - Proverbs 3:5-6

One of my favorite scriptures is Proverbs 3:5-6. I find comfort in knowing that there’s Someone with infinite knowledge willing to guide us through life. And all we have to do is trust Him with all our hearts.

Pray every day. Read and meditate on the Word of God every day. And trust God every day.

When you do, everything won’t always be okay, but you will be.
